Niagara-Hamilton Bootcamp, A Dynamic Two-Day Journey

Updated: Feb 10

The VoltaMat Advanced Technologies Inc. team recently had the pleasure of participating in the Hamilton-Niagara Bootcamp, an enriching and interactive event hosted by the Global Startups Accelerator on October 21st and 22nd.

The experience kicked off at the Niagara Falls Innovation Hub, a vibrant center for business support in the Niagara Region. After an introductory presentation on the region and the hub, participants toured the facilities, engaged in a walking tour, and connected with alumni.

After a networking lunch, the day continued at Innovate Niagara, an informal conversation with CEO Jeff Chesebrough and representatives from Niagara College took place.

The first day finished with a visit to Brock University and the Brock LINC, gaining insights into their programs and attending an inspiring “Lessons Learned – Niagara Edition” session led by Luis and Milad Parsa, CEO of RUNASO.

The second day of this journey began at McMaster Innovation Park, where participants connected with other innovators. Stefa Sokolowski provided an enlightening overview of Hamilton’s innovation ecosystem.

Next on the agenda was a visit to Innovation Factory and The Forge McMaster, where  Ryan Moran, MBA, and Leigh Wilson welcomed the visitors.

To conclude the trip, an insightful session on funding incentives took place, with presentations by Ismael Cepeda from BDC, and Andrew McDowall and Gehan Mustafa Kamel Selim, Ph.D., from KPMG Canada.
